Archispec glossary
Definitions of terms used in Archispec and in this help center.
A
Agency — Shared workspace grouping members, catalogue, and projects.
Annotation — Comment anchored to a specific spot on an image or PDF, with an internal or external discussion thread. See Annotations.
Administrator — Intermediate role at agency or project level. Can manage members and settings, but cannot transfer ownership or archive a project.
Associate — Base role for team members. Can work on products, files, and chat.
Archiving — Action that removes an item (project or product) from the active list without deleting it. Archiving is reversible.
Progress — Name of the planning tab on the client side (equivalent to Planning on the agency side).
B
Purchase order — PDF export to order products from a supplier. See Purchase order.
C
Catalogue — Agency's central product library, reusable across all projects. See Catalogue.
Client — External person invited to a project to review proposed products, validate choices, and exchange via chat.
External channel — Chat or annotation thread visible to the team and project clients.
3D credit — Unit consumed to generate a 3D model from a product image (1 credit per generation).

Detail booklet — PDF export grouping selected product sheets.

Company — Agency-level record of an intervening company, assignable as a lot contractor. See Companies.
F
Spreadsheet — Excel export of selected products.
Supply / install — Product field (when a lot is defined) indicating whether the lot handles supply, installation, both, or neither.

Hidden from client — Initial status of a product being prepared. The client does not see it until it is moved to Proposed.
I
Internal channel — Chat or annotation thread visible to the project team only.
L
Lot — Trade category in a project (plumbing, carpentry, etc.). Products and planning tasks can be linked to a lot. See Lot management.
M
Mention — Notification sent to a member via @ in chat or an annotation. See Chat.
N
Technical note — Internal text field on a product, never visible to clients, exportable in the booklet and spreadsheet.
O
Owner — Highest role. At agency or project level, has all permissions including archiving and ownership transfer.
P
Phase — Grouping of planning tasks by project stage (Studies, Construction, etc.). See Planning.
Planning — Chronological view (Gantt-style) of project tasks, with phases, dependencies, and optional client sharing.
Client portal — Dedicated interface (/client/...) accessible to invited clients on a project. See Overview.
Product — Central element of the specification: furniture, equipment, finish, or load. Each product has a status, price, images, and can be linked to a section and lot.
Proposed — Status indicating a product is presented to the client. Only proposed products (and beyond in the lifecycle) are visible on the client side.
Referral — Program allowing an agency to refer another agency and receive subscription credits. See Referral.
S
Section — Spatial division of a project (room, floor, space). Used to organize and filter products. See Section management.
Seat — User seat included in the paid subscription. Each active member or pending invitation consumes a seat.
Status — Stage in a product's lifecycle (proposed, validated, ordered, etc.). See Product statuses.
T
Type — Agency-level product category, used to filter and classify. See Product types.
