Archispec glossary
Definitions of terms used in Archispec and this help center.
A
Agency — Shared workspace grouping members, catalog, and projects.
Administrator — Intermediate role at agency or project level. Can manage members and settings, but cannot transfer ownership or archive a project.
Member — Base role for team members. Can work on products, files, and chat.
Archiving — Action that removes an item (project or product) from the active list without deleting it. Archiving is reversible.
Progress — Name of the planning tab on the client side (equivalent to Planning on the agency side).

Purchase order — PDF export to order products from a supplier. See Purchase order.
C
External channel — Chat thread visible to the team and project clients.
Internal channel — Chat thread visible only to the project team.
Spec book — PDF export grouping selected product sheets.
Catalog — Agency's central product library, reusable across all projects. Accessible via the Catalog menu.
Client — External person invited to a project to review proposed products, approve choices, and communicate via chat.
3D credit — Unit consumed to generate a 3D model from a product image (1 credit per generation).

Spreadsheet — Excel export of selected products.

Trade — Trade category in a project (plumbing, carpentry, etc.). Products and planning tasks can be linked to a trade.
P
Referral program — Program allowing an agency to refer another agency and receive subscription credits. See Referral program.
Planning — Chronological view (Gantt-style) of project tasks, with dependencies and optional client sharing.
Client portal — Dedicated interface (/client/...) accessible to clients invited to a project. See Overview.
Product — Central element of the specification: furniture, equipment, finish, or fixture. Each product has a status, price, images, and can be linked to an area and trade.
Owner — Highest role. At agency or project level, has all permissions including archiving and ownership transfer.
Proposed — Status indicating a product is presented to the client. Only proposed products (and beyond in the lifecycle) are visible on the client side.
S
Seat — User slot included in the paid subscription. Each active member or pending invitation uses one seat.
Status — Stage in a product's lifecycle (proposed, liked, approved, ordered, etc.). See Product statuses.
Z
Area — Spatial division of a project (room, floor, space). Used to organize and filter products.
